Full-Time Associate Position Available in the summer of 2026 at Dolman Eyecare in New Hamburg, Ontario

Position Overview

Dolman Eyecare, located at 251 Huron Street, Unit B, New Hamburg, Ontario, is seeking a full-time associate optometrist (4-5 days per week) to join their team in the summer of 2026. This opening is due to the upcoming retirement of one of our long-term associates. New graduates are encouraged to apply. There is also potential for mentorship leading to future partnership or practice purchase opportunities.

The clinic is conveniently situated just a 20-minute drive west of Kitchener-Waterloo, 25 minutes from the Waterloo Region International Airport, and approximately one hour west of Toronto International Airport (on a clear day and if there are no accidents on the 401).

About the Practice

The clinic operates a full-scope practice, hosting six optometrists, with up to five seeing patients daily. The team includes 12 well-trained staff members, including a licensed optician and several Certified Canadian Optometric Assistants. We place a strong emphasis on positive team culture, organizing regular team building and training events.

The practice has served patients for nearly 50 years, maintaining a loyal patient base, including many who continue to seek our care even after moving away. 

The clinic remains open one late evening each week (8:00pm on Thursdays), closes earlier on Fridays at 4:00 p.m., and is closed on weekends. 

Clinic Facilities

Dolman Eyecare features a spacious, 4,200 square foot clinic. The facility offers two pre-test areas, five exam rooms, a large and inviting optical section, and an edging lab.

The clinic is equipped with advanced technology, including:

• Topcon Triton Swept-Source OCT (with Fundus Autofluorescence, OCT-Angiography, Anterior Segment imaging, and Fundus camera)
• Optos California (wide field imaging and fundus autofluoresence)
• Topcon Myah (axial length, topography, meibography, NITBUT, tear meniscus)
• Zeiss FDT
• Topcon 4-in-1 (Auto R/K, NCT, Pachymetry)
• Zeiss Humphreys Visual Field Analyzer (with Glaucoma Progression Analysis)
• Neurolens N3 device for objective measurement of distance and near phoria and AC/A
• iMed I-PEN Osmolarity System

Practice Highlights

With a large patient base and up-to-date technology, Dolman Eyecare Centre has expanded its scope of practice to include disease management, Myopia Management, Dry Eye management, and specialty Contact Lenses (Ortho K and Scleral Lenses). The clinic is actively exploring the acquisition of new diagnostic technology and therapy options for further expansion in these areas.

Dolman Eyecare enjoys strong support and maintains excellent relationships with the local ophthalmologists in Kitchener, Waterloo, Cambridge, and London including Laser Vision Correction and Premium Cataract clinics TLC (Kitchener-Waterloo) and Clear Vision Surgical (Kitchener).
