Licensing Exam Update: Changes for Optometry Students in B.C. & Ontario

If you’re planning to practice in Canada, please be aware of the changes to the licensing process!

• After March 12, 2025, the OEBC exam will be the only pathway to licensure in Canada.
• If you registered for the NBEO by March 7, 2025 (Ontario) or March 12, 2025 (B.C.), you can still complete the NBEO and become licensed in your respective province.
• If you haven’t registered for the NEBO by the above dates, you are required to take the OEBC exam to obtain licensure.
