Licensing Exam Update: Changes for Optometry Students in B.C. & Ontario

If you’re planning to practice in Canada, please be aware of the changes to the licensing process! After March 12, 2025, the OEBC exam will be the only pathway to licensure in Canada. If you registered for the NBEO by March 7, 2025 (Ontario) or March 12, 2025 (B.C.), you can still complete the NBEO and become licensed in your respective province. If you haven’t registered for the NEBO by the above dates, you are required to take the OEBC exam to obtain licensure. We know these changes may raise questions, and we’re here to support you.
